Hello everyone,

My name is Gbedegnon Roseric Azondekon. I am a Public Health Informatics Specialist, Epidemiologist, Medical Entomologist, and Biologist. I currently work at the Surveillance and Data Branch (SDB) in the Division of Health Informatics and Surveillance (DHIS), Centers for Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Services (CSELS) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Prior to joining the CDC, I worked as a malaria research scientist at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Benin. In my role, I managed and led multiple malaria vector control interventions, designed, implemented, and coordinated mobile data collection systems in resource limited settings.

I also worked at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) as a Research Analyst, where I assisted in teaching Bioinformatics curricula and developed applications for Next Generation Sequencing data analysis.

Over the course of my academic journey, I have received various awards, Scholarships, and Fellowships among others:

I earn various academic degrees including a Ph.D in Biomedical and Health Informatics (from UWM), a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology (from UMass Amherst), a Master in Applied Medical and Veterinary Entomology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science.
